Affiliate Marketing Is Frustrating

Affiliate marketing can be very rewarding. It can also be very frustrating. While I had a very good month last month, this month is shaping up to be very miserable. The key with affiliate marketing is to learn how to consistently make income from month to month. It is also important not to have all your eggs in one basket. I learned that the hard way. I would recommend having several different profitable campaigns running at the same time. That way if one offer goes south, you have others to fall back on. If you have several running, then your income will be a bit more stable and it will not be as frustrating.

Test Affiliate Offers

One of most common tips that are given across all of the affiliate blogs is the value of testing. If you are going to make any money at affiliate marketing you need to test the offers. You are going to find only a few offers that are going to make you money. You need to be patient and persistent. Try several offers and see which one converts for you the best. I usually will start out by direct linking the offer to see which ones have promise. Then, you can start to scale up your campaign. Happy Testing!!

I rank #1 in Google

I own a domain that ranked #1 in Google. Now it was not a website that had the word iPhone or Ringtones but it was a niche site regarding mobile ringbacks. Chances are you might not even know what the term means but I can guarantee you that people searched on it. I was receiving a fairly substantial amount of traffic from the #1 ranking thus resulting in sales.
You probably would like to know how to achieve the number #1 ranking. You need to choose a domain name that is related to the keyword you are trying to obtain the ranking in. Then you need to get as much traffic from backlinks and reciprocal links as possible. If you link using those keywords, then you will be able to obtain the #1 ranking.
Have you ever had a website that #1 in Google?

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Several months ago I decided to spend my spare time working on affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is the concept of driving traffic to other companies offers in the hopes of making a profit. This activity takes a lot of work and effort. It is not something that people can pick up and make bunches of money right from the start. It is very similiar to my professional career and it involves a lot of trial and error and a bunch of testing. What works for one offer might not work for another. There are many people out there that claim to make a lot of money with very little effort, but this is simply not the case. Chances are they are trying to sell you something in order for them to make a profit. Affiliate marketing is a lot of work. It is also true that there are great rewards possible. I estimate that it will take several years of persistent work in order to be successful. This blog will catalog my journey through lots of trial and effort, persistence, and patience.

My Professional Career

My professional career started in the Retail world. I was a Manager for J.C. Penney for 5 years. I was responsible for everything from ordering merchandise to unloading trucks. I decided that I wanted to get out of the retail world due to the long working hours and low pay. So I got into the Information Systems arena in the world of Software Testing. My career has moved through several companies and several different states. I have worked for EDS, eMIS, SAIC, CACI, and I am currently working for CenturyTel as a QA Manager. I have lived in many places including South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Alabama, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica. That is just a little bit about me. Over the life of this blog, you will hopefully learn much more about who I am.
